My new found camper obsession started months ago. I came across images of some vintage campers while on the search for the perfect option to branch out my home based jewelry business. I had been debating and seriously considering opening a building store front but was having a hard time wanting to hand out a hefty $1000 a month for a lease or loan payment. Mind you, I feel comfortable enough that I could cover the costs but it's far too steep yet to make that step. So I looked for alternatives and after joking around with my husband who had purchased a party bus a while ago who made comment of converting the bus over to a shop, I began to seriously consider that avenue.
I loved the idea of being mobile and unique however, the idea of me driving a huge school bus wasn't ideal for me and the fact is I simply didn't need all that space. While searching on Pintrest at mobile Tiny homes, smaller conversion busses, it's where I stumbled across my first glimpse of these absolutely adorable vintage trailers. I was instantly hooked and in love with these revamped campers not only to make my business mobile but the idea of a vintage trailer well it seems to be a "perfect" marriage with my handmade jewelry business. So my decision has fallen to yes I want a vintage trailer. I now have to sort out what it is I really want how to get exactly what I want. I'm BRAND NEW to this. Being that this is the start of my journey of learning and searching for my dream trailer I've decided to blog to share what I learn along the way and share with those who would be first discovering the world of vintage campers.
So far for the short time I've been obsessed...I've come across dozens of sites and had not a lot of success in my search. I am learning lots along the way and plan on doing lots more research and sharing as I go along. I have found that the sites I'm coming across are not always friendly or well organized. Being a freelance web designer I'm itching to fix all these sites. I've already started bidding on Ebay and have already came across a scam artist in which I'll share with you in following posts. I wanted to share with you sites I've found helpful and what I've learned and will be learning that I've found helpful and also share to what I'm wanting and why. I'm starting to narrow it down and feeling more comfortable at knowing more and more of what I'm looking for. Like I said this is for all those that are starting out like me and even for the experts to helpfully stumble across my site and and chime in with some helpful pointers. Being a freelance web developer I also hope to make this site filled with lots of helpful functional features such as a forum for questions and answers and sharing and a directory for camper services and even a classified section for people to be able to sell and list.
I look forward to future posts and the time developing this site to be helpful for others to use as well. Here and throughout this site you will find picture and photos I have discovered along the way. I in no way take credit for any of them other than finding them online and loving each one. I hope to someday be a proud owner of one with photo originals of my own!
Until then Sweet Dreams!
